Oh what a night!

I know I promised my recipe, but it's been such a whirlwind the last two days. I just have to share these photos from the night of the Masterchef Grand Finale last Tuesday night at the Goldie Room here on Waiheke Island. Big ups to the Goldie Room for hosting this memorable night. Thank you so much everyone on Waiheke who came out to support me, it means the world to me, just like all your lovely comments and emails I have been receiving over the last two days. I hope you understand I can't quite get to them all personally right now, but that I do appreciate your kind comments so very much! Ok, signing off, Ana xo

Welcome!

Well, here we are, the show's over, I've got my spirit back together and I am writing my first post for my blog. What an incredible journey I've been on! I didn’t succeed in taking out the Masterchef New Zealand Series 3 title but despite that I still feel like a winner having faced all the challenges that come with being part of a reality-tv cooking competition and coming out knowing that I can perform under pressure and most of all can cook a pretty mean dish. Congratulations to Chelsea Winter for winning the title, and congratulations to all my other friends in the show, all amazing cooks who I share that great passion with: Food! I'm looking forward to an exciting future involving that passion.

Building my new house on Waiheke Island has kept me sane! Creating our own home has been so much fun and we are so close to moving in now and my kitchen is coming along nicely. I can't wait to entertain and host some cheeky little cooking classes, so for those who might be keen lets keep in touch with my newsletter.

This blog is where I will be posting all sorts of foodie things that inspire me. Food is culture and many things fall into that category. Of course there will be regular recipes for your perusal and inspiration. One good way to stay in touch would be liking me on facebook, so you know what's cooking in Ana's kitchen and I'll keep you all in the loop.

I'm going to start of this foodie journal by cooking a simple little lunch, a Spanish inspired Chorizo & Squid Crostini with Mojo Sauce. And before you ask, yes I always pay for squid! ; )

Keep learning, keep reading and most of all enjoy!
